She's All That

(1999)

as Brock Hudson

Tagline: A new comedy that proves there's more to attraction than meets the eye.

Plot: High school favourite Zach Siler is dumped by his prom queen shoe-in girlfriend for some slimey TV soap star (Matthew!). On the rebound he takes a bet from his best friend that he can take up with mousey bespectacled Laney Boggs and get her voted prom queen instead. Great friend, impossible task. Though once Laney scraps her glasses, does her hair, and gets into decent rags, Zach finds himself taking rather a lot of notice of her.

Other Noteworthy Actors: Freddie Prinze jr, Paul Walker, Usher

Noteworthy Actresses: Rachael Leigh Cook and Clea DuVall

Trivia: CAMEO(Sarah Michelle Gellar): in the cafeteria.

Filmed at the same high school as the TV show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1997). Sarah Michelle Gellar, who plays Buffy in the series and who co-starred with Freddie Prinze, Jr. in I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), has a small, non-speaking cameo.

Almost every main actor has played in something screenwriter Kevin Williamson wrote. Freddie Prinze, Jr. played in I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), Matthew Lilliard played in Scream (1996), Usher Raymond plays in Faculty, The (1998), and 'OLyn Keefe, Jodi plays in Halloween H20 which Williamson co-wrote.

Rachel Leigh Cook's character's name, Laney Boggs, is a combination of the names of two characters played by Winona Ryder: Kim Boggs in Edward Scissorhands (1990) and Lelaina "Laney" Pierce in Reality Bites (1994). This is an apparent nod to Cook's and Ryder's physical resemblance.
